October 2013 CT Fire Truck News n' Things

 (From connfire.com)

October 2013:

East Hartford: Engine 3 has been assigned a 2004 Seagrave pumper which was in the show Rescue Me.  The former Engine 3 Seagrave pumper has moved into reserve status.

Kent: Kent Fire ordered a Chevy / Lifeline ambulance.

Sherman: Sherman has two committees spec'ing out a new pumper and new ambulance.

Westbrook: Paperwork should be signed this week with Seagrave for a 75' Aerialscope to replace the current aerialscope serving the department.

Middlefield: Middlefield currently has an engine in production.

Waterbury: Waterbury is currently looking to purchase a used pumper truck.

Woodbury: Woodbury Ambulance has moved into a new facility about a mile from the main station where they were housed prior to moving into this facility.

Woodbury: Woodbury should be taking delivery of the new Spartan/GK in the next couple of months.

Durham: The Durham Fire Dept should be taking delivery of the new rescue this month.

North Branford: To the best of my knowledge, Medic 4 is now running with the refurbished ambulance.  It is a 2007 AEV on a new Terra Star chassis.  The second ambulance will go out after the first of the year for a refurbishment.

New Britain: NBFD is currently shopping for two aerial trucks.  The department got a grant to replace one aerial and capital improvements included a new aerial truck.  I know they have looked at several manufacturers, but I do not believe they have made any final decisions.
